On Tuesday, The Boone Area Chamber of Commerce will host a MEET THE CANDIDATES FORUM in the large courtroom of the Watauga County Courthouse on West King Street in Boone. 

Early voting is underway for the Nov. 8 general election, and there are free parking opportunities for voters.

The Watauga County Board of Commissioners voted to approve changes to the county panhandling ordinance Tuesday night.

This is ASU Homecoming weekend in Boone, and in addition to Saturday’s game, will be Friday’s Homecoming Parade through downtown Boone.

Boone Town Council made no changes last night to the town’s existing towing and booting ordinance and instead, decided that a rewrite of the ordinance was the best option.

Boone Town Council will meet Thursday. Community Appearance Commission meets next Tuesday.

Thursday evening, The Ashe County Board of Adjustment overturned an earlier decision by the Ashe County Commissioners to deny Appalachian Materials a permit to construct an asphalt plant in Glendale Springs.

Terri Smith plead guilty to trafficking charges, and was identified as a habitual felon.
