Boone Police charged a local man with DUI and reckless driving last night when he lost control of his dirt bike on Hwy 105, just off of Highland Ave. in Boone.

Adam David Hamby of Boone, was riding his dirt bike on a dead end driveway near his home, and attempted to “pop a wheelie,” according to the police report.

“Hamby lost control when he entered the gravel lot and the bike fell over, tossing him approximately five to seven feet.”

Hamby was treated by Watauga Medics and taken to Watauga Hospital for his injuries.
