When dealing with domestic violence, Avery County
Sheriff Kevin Frye promises cases are investigated thoroughly.
During the first
weeks of his term in office, Frye vowed to take the issue very seriously. True
to his word, an Avery man was arrested last week for allegedly assaulting a woman.
24-year-old Samuel Nicholas Wyatt was charged with felony assault by
strangulation and was released on a $15,000 bond. Frye expressed his admiration
for both Domestic Violence Investigator Natalie Cook and other detectives in
his department in a written statement after the incident.
