Tainted Chinese Seasoning found on Snack Foods PDF Print
Written by Lauren Ohnesorge

A seasoning made from imported Chinese ingredients may be the culprit in salmonella found on recalled snack foods.

Dozens of people were sickened from the snacks, which included Super Veggie Tings Crunchy Corn Sticks and Veggie Booty snack foods, both products of Robert’s American Gourmet. The seasoning tested positive for salmonella. Anyone with the products in their home should discard them and contact the company at 1-800-626-7557 for reimbursement. Salmonella can cause serious and occasionally fatal infections. Young people and the elderly are most at risk. Symptoms include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain and fever.
