Firework Displays are no place to bring your pets, according to Avery County Humane Society’s Charlene Calhoun.
With strangers and children around, a dog can become disoriented. Even nice dogs, she said, may snap due to stress brought about by the loud noises.
Dog’s ears are particularly sensitive to the bangs of fireworks- so be respectful, Calhoun urges.
That’s not all- people with outdoor pets should consider bringing them in for July 4th. According to Calhoun, noise confuses pets, making them more likely to get lost.
More animals are reported lost this week than any other- so take steps to protect dogs and cats this Independence Day.
