Yo-yoer Yo-yos his way to the top PDF Print

12-year-old Fred Siegmund of Valle Crucis is not your average yo-yoer.

While many know the classics, walking the dog and rocking the cradle, few have his expertise. His favorite trick?

A suicide. It's hard to explain, he says.

It’s harder still to do.

Last weekend, Siegmund flaunted his yo-yo skills in Winston Salem at the North Carolina State Yo-yo Contest, receiving honorable mention.

Siegmund has only been yo-yoing for six months. His inspiration came from a You Tube video and spiraled from there. It’s more than just a neat hobby, he says. Yo-yoing is a great way to impress friends. Need some tips? Siegmund would be glad to help you out. He will be showing off his yo-yo mastery every Wednesday at the Valle Crucis Farmer’s Market.
