tea.jpg8:10 p.m. - Around 400 came out to the Ashe County Civic Center on Saturday afternoon to attend a tea party protesting taxation from the government.

A caravan featuring a police escort, flag waving, and horn honking took participants from Boone to West Jefferson.

A few of the guests speaking to the standing-room-only crowd were Sarah Pennix, Congresswoman Virginia Foxx, and even a speaker dressed as Benjamin Franklin.

The tea party ran from 2:00 to around 5:00 Saturday afternoon.
