Update: Rockslide on 321 PDF Print
Friday, 21 December 2007 06:13
A rockslide south of Blowing Rock in Caldwell County on U.S. 321 is causing traffic delays.
The Department of Transportation’s Frank Gioscio tells us both lanes of 321 are closed. Traffic is being turned back in both directions. Two boulders the size of tractor-trailers landed on the roadway just after nine this morning. Giosco hopes to have the road cleared by eight or nine tonight. It’s complicated because the slope above the area seems “ready to fall,” he says.
