State investigators turned their information in the deaths of three people at the Boone Best Western Hotel to the 24th District Attorney’s Office months ago, and now it appears that local investigators are preparing to do the same. Investigators had a preliminary meeting Wednesday on possible criminal charges in the three deaths from carbon monoxide poisoning at the Boone hotel, investigators saying that their probe has taken them in various directions and that they took the time to run down every developable lead.  In the meeting, the District Attorney gave guidance to investigators in the criminal case in the April and June deaths, and set another meeting soon, so that additional information may finally lead to indictments.  A couple from Washington State and an 11-year-old boy from South Carolina died after staying in room 225 at the Best Western hotel after fumes from a faulty pool water heater leaked carbon monoxide into the room.
