Officers with the Avery County Sheriff’s Office arrested 47-year old Lester Eugene Harmon of Elk River Rd on October 10th for failing to appear in court on meth counts.  Harmon had been arrested previously on felony drug charges and an Order for Arrest was issued when he failed to appear on the original charges.  While there, officers encountered 27-year old Rebecca Clawson, who was found to have outstanding charges for her arrest. Clawson was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Manufacturing of Methamphetamine and was placed under a $125,000.00 bond, while Harmon was placed under a $150,000.00 bond at the Avery County Jail.   The original charge on Harmon and the outstanding charge on Clawson were charged as a result of items found on August 31st at a camper on Elk River Rd where Harmon was staying at the time, according to the Avery Sheriff's Office release.
