SUV Flips, Driver Hurt in Afternoon Crash PDF Print

There were some terrifying moments for a Vilas man who drifted into the oncoming lane of NC 105 just south of Boone Tuesday afternoon—and terrifying moments for motorists who dodged his vehicle as it overturned and slammed into the south-bound guardrail. Trooper Goldsmith said that 53-year old William Morgan lost control of his vehicle as he tried to pull back into his lane, ran off of the road to the right and flipped the vehicle several times, crossing the south-bound lane, coming to rest against the south-bound guardrail. Watauga Medics carefully removed the man from the crashed Nissan after Boone Fire forced the door open, but Trooper Goldsmith said that Morgan was not seriously hurt.  He cited the Liberty Hill Vilas man with Failure to Maintain Lane Control in the 3:25pm crash.
