The Caldwell Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in an August 19th incident involving a bomb threat. At 7:55am, a call came into the Caldwell County Communications Center via the 911line.  The unknown female caller advised that there was a bomb at the Caldwell County Courthouse. Investigators determined that the call was made from a pay phone located at the Gas House at the intersection of Morganton Blvd and Beecher Anderson Rd.  Investigators were able to view video footage from the Gas House that led to a vehicle description and one of the suspect. Deputies with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office observed a vehicle a short time later that matched the description.  The vehicle was stopped and the suspect Anita Kay Laws, 45, of 1369 Bee Mountain Ridge Rd. was ultimately arrested and charged with felony making a false bomb threat as to a public building. Laws was arrested and held under a $30,000 secured bond at the Caldwell County Detention Center.
