Fire investigators in Burke County are trying to determine what started a fire that destroyed a home near Rhodhiss.  Five different departments from two counties responded to the fire shortly after seven this morning along Cape Hickory Road. The intense heat and flames caused a portion of the roof to collapse. Several neighbors rushed to the home fearing the woman who lived there might be inside but she had left for work. Fire investigators say they don't see anything suspicious and believe the fire possibly started in the kitchen.  One of the owners dogs died in that fire.
