Women’s forum to Break Through PDF Print
Monday, 01 October 2007 22:57

In cooperation with OASIS, the Boone Service League is presenting its 3rd Annual Women’s Forum, entitled Breaking through… protecting our community from violence against women tonight.

Featured speakers will be Brad Perry of the Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Action Alliance and Lynne Walter of the North Carolina Coalition Against Sexual Assault.

Domestic violence is a serious issue- even here, Oasis’ Becca Gummere says.

We'd like to think we're safe from domestic violenc, she says, but the truth is, trends everywhere show it's a problem.

It all happens tonight at 7 p.m. at Deerfield United Methodist Church, and the League’s Kelly Sechrist hopes to attract people from all socio-economic areas, men and women.

For more information, contact Sechrist at 828-268-0983.
