Bands to battle it out PDF Print
Friday, 28 September 2007 03:16

Saturday bands are battling it out in Wilkesboro, and, as organizer Melissa Walker says, there’s something for everyone.

The Battle of the Bands showcases everything from emo to heavy metal.

Fifteen rock bands, as well as several amateur bands are going to be competing for money and other prizes. The battle, in its fourth year, is expected to draw two thousand fans.

According to Walker, most music events in Wilkes showcase country and bluegrass.

While working with teenagers, Walker decided rock fans needed an outlet in Wilkes.

A $10 fee gets you in. It all happens at the North Wilkesboro Parking Decks. Gates open at 3:30.
