Thursday, 27 September 2007 20:46
Black households make 40 percent less money than white households, census data says.
The census, released Thursday, says the median income from blacks was just over $29,000 in 2006. That’s 12 percent less than Hispanic households and 40 percent less than white households. The unemployment rate among blacks has increased to 7.5 percent compared with the state average of 4.2 percent.
