Tuesday, 25 September 2007 22:59

While two Boone Town Council candidates have announced their intentions to drop out of the race- it’s not yet official.

A formal announcement was expected last night at Boone Saloon, but has been delayed. Both Kevin Freeman and Rob Taylor are expected to make an announcement- and endorsements later this week. The pair have decided to endorse incumbent Mayor Loretta Clawson, incumbent councilmen Bunk Spann and Lynne Mason, and council candidate Liz Aycock.

The four-candidate team have called themselves the “progressive” candidates, setting themselves apart from Political Action Committee Citizens for Change endorsed council candidates Ethan Dodson, Stephen Phillips, incumbent councilman Dempsey Wilcox, and mayoral candidate Tim Wilson.

The municipal election is on October 9.
