Still in Stage 1 PDF Print
Thursday, 20 September 2007 19:39
Boone is still in extreme drought- and Stage 1 Water Shortage Conditions have not been lifted, Public Utilities Director Rick Miller said.
While the rainfall that hit the High Country last Friday, courtesy of Hurricane Humberto, temporarily recharged our water sources, Miller says he’s noticing the flow amounts decreasing again. Unless Boone receives a substantial amount of rain, he says, Stage 1 water conditions will continue. Stage 1 is voluntary, but Stage 2, which is the next step, includes mandatory water restrictions.
