A livestock show put on by the Cooperative Extension office is a great way to support Friends of Agriculture in Ashe County, organizer Charles Young says.
Livestock agriculture is vital to Ashe.
Along with topping a million dollars as an industry- it adds to area tourism, Young says.
Cows and horses are part of the landscape that attract people to the area.
The event starts at 10 a.m. at the Ag Expo Site in West Jefferson and features a raffle as well as sheep, goat and horse showmanship competitions.
