Burning Permits Offered PDF Print
Tuesday, 18 September 2007 19:00
Just to recap- the statewide burning ban is officially over.
As of yesterday, citizens can once again apply for burning permits. The ban was initiated last month due to the dry conditions, as well as an increase in wildfires statewide. Last week’s rainstorms, as well as the cooler temperatures, allowed officials to cancel the ban yesterday. Don’t get too excited, however. The rain did little to alleviate the statewide drought, and officials warn the ban could be reinstated if conditions do not improve.
