The idea that grew to become the Hayes Center for the Performing Arts started in the offices of the Blowing Rock Stage Company. And, though they grew as separate entities, this week the two group’s boards of directors voted to merge into one.

Chairman of the Hayes Center Foundation Board, Chip Williamson, calls the move an efficient and effective business and programming model.  The Hayes Center Foundation Board and the Blowing Rock Stage Company Boards will merge to run both operations as a single entity. According to Blowing Rock Stage Company Artistic Director, Ken Kay, board members can either remain involved on the single board, or serve as a member of an advisory board. The merger is effective March 31st.  The Blowing Rock Stage Company will retain its name and mission of providing live, professional theatre to the region.
