Sawmills’ resident Emily Anderson’s body was found January 7, 2006 after she was allegedly  shot to death and stuffed into the toolbox of her pickup truck. Family and friends want to keep Emily’s memory alive, and are doing so through a website. The website is a plea by family and friends for justice, and asks for donations to increase the reward for information leading to a conviction of a suspect. Her husband, Jerry Anderson, was arrested and is currently free on bail after a mistrial was declared in July. The Caldwell County District Attorney’s office has not said when, or if, Anderson will be retried.
