Details on Monday Assault PDF Print

An assault on an ASU student last week may be the result of a repeat offender.
Last Monday at 9:15 p.m., a female student was allegedly assaulted while walking alone behind the Student Union. The suspect is described as a white male in his twenties, approximately 5’10” tall, 165 lbs, with a slender build, and short hair. He was wearing a dark-colored ball cap, dark shirt and dark-colored cargo shorts. The man approached the victim from behind and pulled her shorts down. After the victim screamed, the suspect fled by running towards Howard Street between the University Post Office and the Presbyterian Church Parking Lot. The attack is reminiscent of several assaults over the past few months, the last of which was reported on July 7. In all of those cases, an unidentified male approached a woman walking alone on campus and attempted to pull her pants down. University Police urge students to use caution when walking alone on campus at night. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Crimestoppers at 828-262-4555.
