A teen involved in a fatal crash on N.C. 268 in the Yadkin
Valley Community faces charges- including misdemeanor death by vehicle.
17-year-old Jeremy Tyler Watts was driving a black 1995 Chevrolet on August 15
when troopers say he crossed the double yellow line and collided head-on with a
white Chevrolet truck. Watts is alleged to have been traveling between 45 and
50 miles per hour when the incident occurred. Troopers say speed caused the
crash. North Wilkesboro’s 54-year-old Gary Michael Parsons was killed in the
wreck. Parsons’ girlfriend’s 13-year-old daughter was injured, as was Watts.
Both are recuperating. Watts also faces
fictitious tag and seatbelt violations.
