Grant to Fall Creek Fire Department PDF Print
Sunday, 19 August 2007 20:00
10th District Congressman Patrick McHenry announced last week that Fall Creek Fire Department in Avery County has been awarded $71,539 in federal grant money
from the Department of Homeland Security. McHenry said in a statement that the money should “enable the department to better train and equip its personnel, which will help ensure that it continues meeting the needs of Avery County residents.” The grant is part of the Department of Homeland Security’s Operations and Safety Program Area, which provides funding for fire departments’ training, equipment, personnel protection, and fire station needs.
