Abduction proves false, law enforcement tested PDF Print
Wednesday, 15 August 2007 09:59

A call around ten a.m. this morning prompted the quick action of Boone Police Department.

Dispatch received a report of the possible stranger abduction of a 10-month-old child from Boone Pediatrics.

Boone Police Department had every available officer on the case- and quickly.

Investigator Matt Stevens says it was all a misunderstanding- and the child was safely with a grandparent- but local law enforcement proved its diligence.

"We have a lot of law enforcement presence and a good communication system in place," Stevens said.

Patrol cars were scanning the highways looking for a particular vehicle- and detectives thoroughly investigated the matter. In fact, the situation was resolved in under an hour.

Should the unthinkable happen, today’s false alarm proves Boone and Watauga law enforcement can cooperate, he says.
