Mural to be unveiled PDF Print
Wednesday, 08 August 2007 20:00
At 3:30 today, the secret will be out: What’s behind the tarp in the Appalachian State University Library?
Artist Brenda Councill has completed a mural in the Commons Atrium- and it will be publicly unveiled at a small reception at the Belk Library. Councill used acrylic and water-based paint to create a three-dimensional effect along the atrium walls. The images are said to illustrate Appalachian’s academic and athletic programs, the history of the community of Boone and the university’s continued legacy. The mural was commissioned as a gift to the University by Ike and Carol Belk of Charlotte.
