A sheriff’s deputy allegedly had to resort to Taser action over the weekend in Wilkes County.
Medics were called to 31-year-old Billy Ray Garris’ Miller’s Creek residence Sunday. According to reports, it took five people to hold Garris down. A deputy shocked Garris in the shoulder, allegedly to protect paramedics on scene. The deputy allegedly resorted to a Taser shock twice during the incident. Garris was handcuffed to a stretcher and transported to Wilkes Regional Hospital. While the initial reason for the medical call has not been released, it is known that upon arrival at the hospital, Garris had to be heavily medicated.
