|Energy Efficiency: One Senate vote away|

A bill that would require the state’s utilities to provide 12.5 percent of their retail electricity from renewable fuel and efficiency measures by 2017passed a Senate vote yesterday. The bill, which passed 47-1, contains sections dictating that a certain amount of renewable fuel should come from hog and poultry waste. A final Senate vote is expected today.
