Professor and writer featured on UNC-TV PDF Print

Award-winning author and Appalachian State University professor Joseph Bathanti will be featured on UNC-TV’s “North Carolina Bookwatch” tomorrow night

at 9:30 p.m. Bathanti, a professor of creative writing, is also co-director of the Hughlene Bostian Frank Visiting Writers Series. Bathanti will talk about his latest book, Coventry. A Pittsburgh native, Bathanti came to North Carolina in 1976 as a VISTA (domestic Peace Corps) volunteer to teach in Huntersville Prison. Since then, he has continued to teach and mentor prison inmates- experiences he drew up while writing Coventry. Bathanti is also the author of four poetry collections and the novel, East Liberty.
