Sheriffs attend conference PDF Print
Monday, 30 July 2007 20:53

Avery County sheriff Kevin Frye was among the 80 sheriffs in attendance last week at the North Carolina Sheriff’s Association Annual Conference.

While workshops on management were valuable- there are lots of reasons such conferences are important, according to Frye.

Sheriffs are given up-to-date information on Raleigh legislation that affects law enforcement.

The Association then decides as a group to support or not support certain legislation.

Sheriffs also network- talking about common issues that affect several sheriffs' jurisdictions.

Among other sheriffs in attendance were Len Hagaman of Watauga County and James Williams of Ashe County.
