Some local peaches survive frost PDF Print

An Easter weekend freeze didn’t kill all North Carolina’s peaches. 
According to officials from the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, some growers were able to save up to 30 percent of their crop. While some peaches are available, not enough to provide four farmer’s markets enough for peach-related events this year. Advice from the Department of Agriculture? Get them while you can.
