Federal Minimum Wage to raise Tuesday PDF Print

The federal minimum wage will increase on Tuesday to $5.85. 
While North Carolina’s minimum wage was raised to $6.15 in January, a ripple is possible, financial experts say. That could mean higher wages for minimum wage workers in North Carolina. Thanks to the federal boost, minimum wage workers will get an additional 70-cent boost each summer through 2009, when the minimum wage will end at $7.25 an hour.
