8:38 a.m. - Tennessee officials are looking into the shooting death of a Mountain City woman.

The Johnson City Press reports Johnson County Sheriffs received a call around 11:50 Thursday night to a garage on Highway 421 North about a woman who had fallen.  Authorities arrived to find 57-year-old Sandra Lee Moffett lying on the floor with a gunshot wound to her head and 41-year-old Michael Craig Allen lying beside her.  Allen was also suffering from a head wound.

A .22-caliber pistol was found lying on the floor next to the victims.

The two were taken to Johnson City Medical Center.  Moffett was pronounced dead at the hospital, but Allen is said to be in stable condition.

An autopsy has been ordered for Moffett to determine a cause of death.

Investigators said Moffett and Allen were the only people at the garage when authorities arrived.  Investigators also said the two had attended a birthday party at a nightclub across the street from the garage earlier that night.
