A local man died at approximately 11 p.m. last night when his car collided with an SUV on N.C. Hwy 105 in Foscoe.

The man, whose identity has yet to be released, was driving a northbound white Ford when he crossed the centerline and struck a southbound Toyota Sequoia head-on, according to North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two passengers in the SUV were airlifted to Johnson City and one was airlifted to Baptist Hospital. Preliminary reports suggest there were five passengers in the vehicle, but their conditions have yet to be released.
