Local evangelist Curtis Presnell hopes he has found a new way to make a difference.

Presnell has had a hard life. After spending 17 years in and out of prison battling a meth addiction, Presnell was saved three and a half years ago. Since then, he has been looking for ways to spread his beliefs in the High Country. With the newly formed Hope After Dope ministries, Presnell thinks he has found the perfect way to help people like him.

It's about fighting addictions through Jesus, he says.

In fact, Hope After Dope is holding its first fundraiser- set for Saturday at seven in the Watauga High School gymnasium. While it’s still in the “baby stages,” Presnell sees his ministry making a difference. He is researching information on how to become a non-profit organization.

Hopefully, after the fundraiser, more people will get involved, he says.

The fundraiser will showcase the musical talents of several local groups. Presnell hopes to see you there.
