Weather Warnings for Early Ice, Possible Flooding PDF Print
Written by Steve Frank

High Country residents woke this morning to more icing in areas, as drizzle mixed with some snow lead to icing on roads and other surfaces.  The forecast for later today includes the possibility of flooding, with a strong band of rain moving in.

A trace of icing is in the forecast from the National Weather Service, but as most drivers have found in this winter's weather, that's all it takes.  The flood watch calls for heavy rain to pass through the area as the day goes along, accompanied by winds up to 40 miles per hour--even the possibility of a thunder shower.  Stay tuned to local radio and to GoBlueRidge.net for updates.  Our new weather page has NWS radar, current conditions, and updates on the forecast.
