james_guy1.jpgA 46-year-old Boone man was arrested after authorities believe he was involved in two separate forgery incidents last month.

Detective Glen Kornhauser with the Boone Police Department said James Luther Guy is believed to have stolen personal checks from a neighbor and cashed them.  Authorities also believe Guy stole a 1991 Dodge Dynasty from another neighbor.

Detective Kornhauser said the Tennessee Highway Patrol stopped Guy in McMinn County two days after taking the vehicle.

Once Guy was brought back to Watauga County, he was charged with five felony counts of uttering a forged instrument, five felony counts of forgery of endorsement, and one felony county of larceny of a motor vehicle.

Guy is being held under a $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on January 22.
