With the temperature expected to drop to below freezing for most of the week, the Watauga County Fire Marshal and Emergency Management Office is asking residents to be extra careful with heaters.

Watauga County Emergency Management’s Public Information Officer Brent Graybeal said, “Watauga County Emergency Management urges all residents using alternative heat sources to deal with the subfreezing temperatures to follow the Manufacturer’s Safety Guidelines for these products.”

Any resident with questions can contact the Watauga County Emergency Management Office at (828)264-4235.
