A 45-year-old Wilkes County man is facing statutory sex offense charges with a 14-year-old boy.

According to the Winston-Salem Journal, William Frederick Cosby was charged with solicitation of a child by computer to commit a sex act.

The State Bureau of Investigation and the Elkin Police Department reportedly arrested Cosby last Thursday after the 14-year-old boy was contacted online and approached by an adult.

The Journal states Cosby was released from the Surry County Jail after paying his $100,000 bail.  Cosby is scheduled to appear in court on January 12.
