Jewel thief strikes while family on vacation PDF Print
Written by Lauren Ohnesorge

While a Wilkes family was on vacation, their home was broken into and several items stolen- including diamond rings.  The break-in was reported by a family friend who came by to feed the dog. The theft is believed to have occurred between Monday and Tuesday. The backdoor was found pried open. Deputies are checking area pawnshops this week in hopes of finding the jewelry. The rings are worth a total of  $1,900. Until the family returns home, deputies will not know if anything else was stolen.
