Landowners interested in learning more about managing their western North Carolina land are encouraged to attend the Introduction to Native Landscaping and Homes in the Forest workshop, to be held at the Watauga County Agricultural Conference Center on July 20.

Participants will learn, among other things, the basics of creating home rainwater gardens to help with storm water drainage. The cost is $25, but you can add a spouse or other family member for $15. The registration fee includes lunch. The course is sponsored by several organizations, including Watauga County Soil and Water Conservation District and the North Carolina Division of Forest Resources. Early registration is encouraged by calling Amy Garascia at the Pisgah Ranger Station at 828-877-3350.
