Two North Wilkesboro residents were injured in a house fire yesterday morning.

According to the Winston-Salem Journal, North Wilkesboro firefighters arrived at the home around 7:00 yesterday morning.

The residents, 61-year-old Linda Call and 54-year-old William Call, were taken to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.  Linda Call is reportedly listed in critical condition, while William Call is in fair condition.

The two suffered from smoke inhalation.  A neighbor reportedly helped the Calls escape the home as firefighters arrived.

The house has been gutted and firefighters believe the blaze began in a clothes dryer.
