Blue Ridge Parkway Temporarily Closed PDF Print
Written by Adam Hicks

An eight-mile stretch of the Blue Ridge Parkway just south of Asheville will be closed because officials fear a nearby slope will crumble, causing a landslide.

According to the Associated Press, the slope failed in 2002 and has been closely monitored since being repaired.

The stretch of the Parkway from Milepost 393.6 to 405.5 near Mount Pisgah is the section that is temporarily closed.
