Paris Brown, a 2007 graduate and former Watauga High School athlete, has signed with North Carolina Central University, a Division Two school, in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association.

Brown will play volleyball and run track for N.C. Central in the coming school year. She played volleyball, basketball and track at Watauga High last season. Brown had an extraordinary season in track where she finished second in the shot put with an effort of 41-feet, eight and a half inches, and in the discus event, where she finished third with a throw of 143 feet, 11 inches at the North Carolina Class 4A State Track Meet at North Carolina A&T in Greensboro in May. Both of those efforts are Watauga High School records.
