The Watauga County Sheriff’s Office continues to look into the death of Kenneth Damien Pearman, the Appalachian State freshman who passed away last week.

Pearman was reportedly found dead Monday afternoon in his bed at his apartment on Bamboo Road.

Captain Dee Dee Rominger of the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office said they are awaiting results from the medical examiner before moving forward with the investigation.

Authorities haven’t said if drugs or alcohol are suspected to be involved in his passing.

According to The Appalachian, ASU’s student run newspaper, a memorial service was held for Pearman on Saturday in Greensboro.
