Fairies and fireflies- Join the fun! PDF Print

Early European sailors came back from the South Pacific full of stories of fairies that flashed in unison. 

Those fairies were actually fireflies- the stars of the National Park Service’s “Nature’s Glowing Nightlights” program. Find out how fireflies’ light is being used in medical research. The free program, scheduled for 8:30 tonight at the Price Park Amphitheatre, Milepost 297 on the Blue Ridge Parkway, is expected to last about 40 minutes.
