Perdue to Visit Japan and China in October PDF Print

North Carolina’s governor will visit China and Japan next month to try and improve commercial and cultural ties between Asia and North Carolina.


The Associated Press reports Governor Bev Perdue will leave for her two-week trip to Asia on October 14.


China is reportedly the state’s second-largest trading partner, while Japan is the fourth.


In a released statement, Perdue said, “This trip is about building and sustaining relationships that create jobs for North Carolinians.  Asian trade and investment represent significant growth opportunities for our state – especially in an economic downturn.”
