Blowing Rock to Host Bike Race PDF Print

Blowing Rock will host the start of the 2009 Cycle North Carolina Fall Ride.


Executive Director of the Blowing Rock Tourism Development Authority, Tracy Brown, said he is pleased that Blowing Rock was selected to kick off the event.  He explained that with over 1,000 cyclists staying overnight in Blowing Rock, the local economy can expect a $75,000 to $100,000 boost.


The race itself is a 475-mile recreational ride along North Carolina’s scenic back roads from the mountains to the coast.


The race begins on September 26 and will end about a week later in Surf City, which is about five miles north of Topsail Beach.
