No serious injuries were reported in a wreck that had traffic backed up on Highway 105 in Foscoe for about a half hour.

Trooper Chris Blankenship with the North Carolina Highway Patrol said the two-vehicle crash happened around noon.

A 2000 Toyota pickup truck was stopped in the northbound lane of Highway 105, attempting to turn left onto Clark’s Creek Road when it was rear-ended by a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria.

There were no passengers in either vehicle.  The driver of truck is from West Jefferson and the driver of the Crown Victoria is from just off the mountain in Marion.

Neither driver was taken to Watauga Medical Center by an ambulance, although Trooper Blankenship said the driver of the Crown Victoria went to the hospital at her own discretion.

The driver of the Crown Victoria was also charged with failure to reduce speed.

The N.C. Highway Patrol and the Foscoe Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene.
